Shape the heartbeat of production in West Point, GA
Step into HTGP’s climate-controlled plant as the go-to problem solver for PLCs and automation. From a 6:30 AM kickoff through an engaging day of diagnostics, you will partner with electricians and technicians, dive into Siemens Step 7 and TIA Portal, and keep lines moving with smart countermeasures and crisp pass-down notes. MAU is hiring this role on behalf of HTGP.
What you will do
- Troubleshoot and repair control systems, PLCs, HMIs, motor controls, and related electrical components.
- Program, configure, and enhance Siemens PLC systems (Step 7 and TIA Portal) to boost functionality and reliability.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals; translate findings into clear documentation and pass-down communications.
- Implement downtime-based countermeasures to reduce MTTR and increase MTBF; report on corrective actions and improvements.
- Provide second-level troubleshooting support for plant electricians and technicians.
- Collaborate with suppliers and contractors to refine processes and equipment; supervise contractors during maintenance or modifications.
- Assist with annual capital projects, prepare reports and presentations, and ensure PM work orders are completed on time.
- Lead proper application of LOTO procedures; support PM schedules during weekends or shutdowns.
- Evaluate and continuously improve maintenance objectives and practices.
How you will lead
- Maintain meticulous, timely documentation of activities and findings.
- Foster strong cross-functional relationships to ensure uninterrupted production flow.
- Monitor and support KPIs such as downtime rate, MTBF, and MTTR.
- Mentor teammates and model safe work practices and LOTO leadership.

Schedule and environment
- Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Regular overtime required; rotating shift schedule; occasional weekend or holiday support.
- Climate-controlled manufacturing environment in most areas.
- May require domestic or international travel.
What you bring
- High school diploma or GED; minimum 3 years of related experience.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and OSHA machine regulations.
- Hands-on experience with machine operation and programming systems.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience; Tier-1 automotive background; cross-cultural work exposure.
- Deep familiarity with Siemens Step 7 and Siemens TIA Portal.
- Ability to program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and motor controls.
- Fluency in reading schematics and technical drawings; strong documentation skills.
- Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SAP, and VAATZ.
- Clear communicator, organized, self-directed, and capable of leading LOTO and safety practices.
