Position Title: Property Assistant II

Reports To: Property Director

Classification: Part Time

Compensation: $20/hour

The YMCA of Hannibal is seeking a part-time Property Assistant II. Job Summary and Responsibilities are listed below:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Professional Demeanor – The Property Assistant II represents the YMCA of Hannibal in a positive, professional manner to the community. Timely completion of projects is key. This individual must be self-motivated and must be able to interact positively with members, guests and fellow staff.
  • Experience – Experience in repair and maintenance of building, grounds and equipment. Particular experience in operating pools, spas is required.
  • Essential Functions –This position requires physical activity in handling tools, materials, etc. The ability to lift at least 50 pounds is necessary.
  • Punctuality/Schedule – The Property Assistant II is asked to work flexible hours based on a schedule that may be modified under the direction of the Property Director. Must be on time for scheduled shifts yet be flexible to account for any evening or overnight projects. Must be able to work weekends and holidays if asked.
  • Callout Schedule – This positon is required to respond to callouts on a schedule developed by the Property Director, and may be requested to respond to callouts at any time.
  • Equipment – Must be knowledgeable in basic equipment operations and repair. Must be versed in variety of tools and maintain PPE.
  • Check – Must be able to pass a criminal background check and random drug test.

Specific Responsibilities:

· Be punctual for all shifts.

· Be responsive to all callouts as scheduled.

· Maintain open communication with the Property Director and co-workers.

· Interact positively with the general public.

· Responsible for daily checks and completion of the Work Order Log Book.

· Responsible for weekly updates of all projects to Property Director.

· Participate in completing the weekly preventative maintenance plan.

· Adhere to all OSHA standards.

· Maintain all assigned records associated with monthly, quarterly, bi annual and annual inspections.

· Obsessive with speed of equipment repair and minimal downtime.

· Perform special projects/duties as assigned by the Property Director.

· Assist with set up/take down equipment for programs, meetings, and special events.

· Model the Y’s core values Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Faith with members, guests, special groups and fellow staff.

· Attend meetings as directed by the Property Director.

· Communicate repair needs that require subcontractor to Property Director.

· Must be in uniform at all times. Y shirt, black pants, work shoes and name tag.

Restrictions

· All employees are required to work at least 8 hours per month to maintain complimentary membership status.

· All other guidelines must be followed in accordance with the Employee Handbook.

Skills, Education and Experience :

· Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Appropriate licenses, including CPO, required within 90 days of employment.

· Exceptional member/guest service.

· 5+ years’ experience in repair and maintenance.

· CPR/First Aid/AED/Oxygen certifications required within 30 days of hire and going forward.

· All employees must complete assigned Praesidium trainings prior to starting employment

Physical Qualifications :

· Speaking, hearing, seeing, reading, writing, typing, lifting, walking, standing, cleaning, and other necessary skills needed for certifications.

· Work performed inside and outside of building in all temperatures.
