Job Description

    Maintenance Technician Level 4 - Certified HVAC Technician Overview We are seeking an experienced Certified HVAC Technician to join our team at our Foot Locker distribution center in Junction City, KS. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems to ensure a safe and efficient working environment. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced facility. Responsibilities Position Functions:

    • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on HVAC systems, including rooftop units, chillers, air handlers, exhaust fans, and ductwork.
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system failures and make necessary repairs.
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal HVAC codes and safety regulations.
    • Monitor and adjust climate control systems to maintain proper temperature and humidity levels within the distribution center.
    • Work with the maintenance team to coordinate HVAC repairs with minimal disruption to operations.
    • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service logs, parts used, and system updates.
    • Identify and implement energy-saving opportunities for HVAC systems.
    • Safely handle refrigerants and maintain EPA compliance with proper disposal and recovery procedures.
    • Respond to emergency HVAC breakdowns and provide timely solutions.
    • Follows daily procedures and protocols as set forth in job orientations and trainings.
    • Effectively communicate/interact amicably with fellow team members, team members, supervisors, and managers.
    Qualifications Required Education and Experience:
    • HVAC Certification (EPA 608) required; additional certifications (NATE, Journeyman, or Master HVAC License) are a plus.
    • 5+ years of experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair, preferably in an industrial or distribution center environment.
    • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and energy management principles.
    • Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
    • Ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in various environmental conditions.
    • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Advance knowledge of Lock Out / Tag Out actions while working on equipment and OSHA safety procedures / use of Personal Protective Equipment (i.e. safety glasses, Arc flash suits, respirators, and fall protection).
    Basic proficiency in speaking and understanding English* to comprehend safety instructions, participate in safety drills and effectively communicate in case of emergencies. This requirement is critical to maintain a safe working environment for all employees. It is not a requirement of Foot Locker that employees speak English only while at work. Work Environment: This position works in a warehouse setting, with limited outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard warehouse maintenance equipment such as scissor lifts, genie booms, drills, multimeters, welders, and general hand/power tools. Based on business demands, team members may be required to temporarily work outside their normal hours or overtime as needed. Benefits The compensation range is $30.00 p/hr - $35.00 p/hr. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the compensation for this position. Compensation will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
