Nashville General Hospital is hiring a Clinical Assistant for Full-time days for our Metro Center location. The Clinical Assistant will support a Primary Care clinic.

We are seeking an experienced and flexible Clinical Assistant to join our ambulatory primary care and specialty clinic. The ideal candidate whether an MA < LPN or RN with leadership experience will support the Nurse Manager in overseeing clinical operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient-centered care within a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model. This role requires a blend of leadership and hands-on clinical skills with the ability to step into staffing roles as needed. *This position works Monday-Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm*

As a Clinical Assistant/Medical Assistant you will:

  • Assist the Clinic Manager in overseeing day-to-day clinical operations ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
  • Provide guidance mentorship and support to clinical staff including RNs and LPNs.
  • Coordinate staff schedules assignments and time-off requests to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Lead team huddles and meetings promoting communication and collaboration among the care team.
  • Perform clinical tasks as needed including patient assessments medication administration wound care and other nursing procedures.
  • Engage patients and their families in care planning and decision-making promoting self-management and shared decision-making.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as maintaining patient records managing inventory and ordering supplies.
  • Monitor clinical performance metrics and assist in implementing improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Medical Assistant MA or Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with an active and unrestricted license or certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a primary care or specialty clinic with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Familiarity with Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) and Patient Centered Specialty Practice (PCSP) concepts and their implementation.
  • BLS Certification required at the time of hire
