Barista – The Westin Westminster

Job Summary:
We are seeking a friendly, energetic, and service-driven Barista to join our Food & Beverage team at The Westin Westminster. Our coffee shop is very busy , and we are looking for someone who can thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment while still delivering warm, attentive service. As a Barista, you will create handcrafted beverages, provide exceptional guest interactions, and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the Westin brand’s commitment to wellness and exceptional guest experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, teas, smoothies, and other beverages to brand standards.
• Accurately handle guest orders using the Micros POS system .
• Provide menu knowledge and make recommendations to enhance the guest experience.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked coffee shop area, including equipment, counters, and display cases.
• Set up, stock, and maintain the display of pastries, grab-and-go items, and snacks for sale.
• Deliver friendly, personalized service and engage with guests to create a welcoming environment.
• Accurately handle cash, credit cards, and room charge transactions, following all cash-handling procedures.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with restocking supplies as needed.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health guidelines.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including setup, cleaning, and securing the outlet.

Qualifications:

• Previous barista or coffee shop experience preferred; hospitality or customer service background a plus.
• Ability to thrive in a busy, high-volume environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
• Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and equipment operation is desirable.
• Strong guest service and communication skills with a positive, energetic attitude.
• Ability to multitask and remain composed under pressure.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
• Flexibility to work early mornings and daytime shifts between 5:00 AM and 5:00 PM .
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays as required.

Hours of Operation:
Our coffee shop operates daily from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM . Scheduling will vary within this window, with opening shifts starting as early as 5:00 AM and closing shifts ending by 5:00 PM.
